Vern Lyman (1878-1959)

OBITUARY
Services for Vern Lyman
Funeral Services for Vern Lyman, 81, were held Wednesday, April 1, in the Escalante South Ward chapel with Bp. Lorell Munson in charge.

Prayer in the home was by Truman Lyman. Remarks by Bp. Munson; song, "My Future Home", by the Singing Mothers; talk, Chase Shurtz; song, "When I Take My Vacation in Heaven", by Veda Mitchell and Betty R. Alvey; History by Nethella Griffin; talk, J. Clyde Spencer; son, "Oh My Father", Singing Mothers; Bendediction, Daniel Wilcock. Dedication of the grave by Randall Lyman, The pallbearers were the grandsons and nephews.

Mr. Lyman died at his home March 29 of natural causes. He was born Jan. 5, 1878 at Panguitch to Amasa Mason Jr. and Rosanna Reynolds Lyman. On Oct. 7, 1909 he married Mary Melvina Wilcock in the Salt Lake Temple.

He was a sawmill operator, a farmer, and served for two years as Garfield County Commissioner.

Survivors: widow; son, 3 daughters; Randall W. and Mrs. James B. (Millie) McInelly, Escalante; Mrs. Emmett E. (Vida) Harrison, Twin Falls, Idaho; Mrs. John (Orabell) Weigel, Salt Lake; 14 grandchildren; 3 brothers; 2 sisters.
