OBITUARY
Donald Ray Lyman, 81, passed away on September 1, 2011 in South Jordan, Utah of cancer.

He was born in Cedar City, Utah to Eugene and Esther Petersen Lyman. He grew up and attended school in Parowan, graduated from Granite High School later attending Weber State College.

Don joined the U.S. Air Force and was one of the original members of the National Security Agency. After leaving military service he ran his family ranch until joining the Salt Lake Police Department, where he retired as a lieutenant. He built and owned the Ute car washes.

He enjoyed boating, camping, water skiing, golf and winters in St. George. Don and his wife Gloria enjoyed traveling the world together.

Survived by his wife Gloria, children Robert (Kathy) Lyman, William H. Lyman, Laura Silver, Steven Weaver, Bryan (Alana Lucinda) Weaver, John D. (Elena) Weaver, David E. (Brittany) Weaver, twenty grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by children Virginia Lyman, Theresa Weaver, and Richard Weaver.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 in the River View Ninth Ward Chapel, 11400 South 700 West, South Jordan, UT. A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church and at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the services. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
